II. General Regulations
The staff of Clay attempts to meet the individual needs of our students, accepting them as they are and carefully aiding in developing their potential. Our goal is to educate our youth so they become well-adjusted and contributing individuals in society. We believe that their years at Clay represent a period of crucial physical, emotional, and intellectual development. We recognize that students’ reactions to adolescence vary: some students cope successfully with the changes and challenges they encounter during these years, while others find this period in their life more difficult, To help develop an attitude of responsibility for their actions, we believe guidelines and steps in disciplinary procedures are necessary. In establishing those guidelines and procedures, we recognize that all disciplinary situations cannot be handled in exactly the same manner. However, stated guidelines and recommended steps in procedures will lead to relative consistencies we work with students on matters of discipline. We believe that parental support of our philosophy and the following guidelines are essential in order to attain our goal. Clay students are expected to conduct themselves off campus according to the same principles that govern student behavior on campus.
